TRYING ON CLOTHES - AT ONCE

Sophie is growing, so fast. Tonight we got into the size 5 clothes in the attic – Thanks Bokors! It is so fun every season getting into the clothes – like having an instant wardrobe. She was helping sort sizes and seasons and kept wanting to try on the ones she liked – only she didn’t take off any and kept adding to them.

She loved these socks – which are NOT for size 5. She wanted to be sure I got a picture of them.

Then she did an art project from her birthday and we hung it in her room.

Happy Monday!

Cookies with Grammy

The kids - especially Ethan, love to make Grammy's yummy sugar cookies. Today Grammy came to help with Ethan and Sophie, even though I was off to be home with Brody. Per Ethan's request, she brought the ingredients for the cookies. She was met at the door - not with 'Good Morning Grammy' - but with - 'Did you bring the stuff for cookies?' We could barely force them to eat breakfast before they were begging to make them. After the cookies were done, I had to get a picture of their 'flour faces'. Too cute! Not to mention the cute aprons Grammy got for them!(which you really can't see in the picture - I'll get a better shot of those next time)

Brody Minus Tonsils

Brody had his tonsils removed on Thursday morning. He missed so many days in Kindergarten, and then he had strep this summer. As his Dr said, kids shouldn't get strep in the summer. So - the tonsils had to go.

He was a little upset before the surgery, that Daddy and I couldn't go into the OR with him. But, he never cried after and he has been such a trooper since we got home. He has been doing much better than we expected. I am so proud of him, and love him so much!

The oxygen mask here is just for fun - they let him take his home with him.

Sophie and My Little Pony

This year for Sophie, we had the family party on the Sunday following her birthday. Daddy smoked a couple of pork butts for BBQ and we had dinner for family. She chose My Little Pony as her party theme this year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIE!!

I can hardly believe that you are 4 today! The time sure flies.

4 years ago today, you ended a very hard summer pregnancy. You were about 3 weeks early - and boy was I glad. We were so happy to have you in our world. You sent us to the hospital on a Saturday night, and although I think you tried very hard to be born on July 16th, the doctor wanted to sleep and didn't come in until the next morning.

1. You are truly our princess.
2. You are a beautiful little girl, no I am not biased.
3. You love your brothers and sometimes you might think that you are a one of them.
4. You have a little flare for drama, I think it is the difference with girls and boys.

Your family party is a couple of days away, so just as I did for the boys, I asked you for your favorite dinner for the night of your birthday. You choose pizza - the frozen Totinos kind - cheese. Well, easy enough. I added pizza rolls for Ethan and oranges to make it a little more healthy. You actually told me that you wanted oranges, than later said you meant peaches. Oh well - Brody ate all of the oranges for you. So me, Daddy, Ethan, Brody and Burl ate pizza, pizza rolls, and oranges - then had cupcakes with pink icing. Pink is still your favorite color. We sang Happy Birthday and you opened presents from us.

WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!
